Class Description: Using PMC One-Fire Sterling, the student will learn how to design, texture, figure for shrinkage, roll out and cut a cigar band type ring. Rings will be lightly curved before firing in order to maintain strength. A small bezel set cabochon will also be demonstrated. Finishing and firing techniques will be discussed as well.

Skill Level: Beginner

Materials Kit (included in price): Silver bezel cups, selection of cabochons, texture plate, embeddables, domestic shipping. Domestic US shipping.**

Required Tools:  

  • PMC One-Fire Sterling metal clay, at least 25 grams
  • Metal clay tool kit: roller, work surface, brush, knife or needle tool, thickness gauges, sanding pads, olive oil, water, dehydrator or drying implement, kiln, vermiculite, kiln shelf or plant saucer,
  • Ring mandrel
  • Waxed or parchment paper
  • Scotch tape
  • Leather mallet
