Class Description: Jump into the world of lampworking in this quickstart class to glass bead making! Students will learn to make beads of various shapes and sizes with dots and various surface decorations for one of a kind creations. Safety, lampworking equipment, glass properties, beadmaking techniques and annealing will be discussed. You will be using oxygen and propane or mapp fueled torches and soft glass. The materials kit was built for the absolute beginner so you can get started immediately.

Skill Level: Beginner

Materials Kit (included in price): assortment of color glass rods that are 104 coe, torch head and heavy duty bracket, mandrels, marver, rake, fiber blanket, aluminum sheet, bead release.
Domestic US shipping.**

Required Tools:  

  • four oxygen/propane cylinders

  • safety glasses - preferrably didymium

  • old stainless steel knife
