Class Description: Create a dynamic multi-media statement necklace showcasing intricate chain maille units with sheet metal components. Both copper and anodized aluminum options are available and the instructor will work with you to customize your kit colours.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Pre-requisite: Students must be comfortable working with jump rings.

Materials Kit (included in price): Sheet metal (either copper or anodized aluminum), jump rings (copper or anodized aluminum), lobster clasp (copper or stainless steel), EPDM rubber rings, instructions.  Domestic US shipping.**

Required Tools:  

  • 2 Chain nose pliers without teeth
  • Metal shear (Xuron NS9180 non-serrated metal scissor will work)
  • Metal hand file
  • Steel bench block
  • Rubber or nylon mallet
  • Pencil
  • Sharpie
  • Ruler (must have millimeters),
  • Metal hole punch (to make a hole of at least 1.2mm large)
  • Optional: Texturing hammer(s).

*Note: Kit only and extra kit options do not include instructions or recording. You must choose either a Zoom or Zoom/Kit combo to receive written instructions. Kits will begin to ship March 30, 2021, unless otherwise arranged with instructor.
