Class Description: Hone your soldering skills while you create these elegant earrings. We will punch, solder and saw these beauties out of sterling silver with a 14K gold-filled accent. And for a bonus, we will also learn how to make these nifty ear wires.

Instructor: Scott Mason and Phyllis Flora

Skill Level: Beginner

Materials Kit (included in price): Textured sterling silver sheet, sterling silver and 14K gold-filled wire, polishing pad. Note: if you don't have a disc cutter, we can cut your circles for you. Domestic US shipping.**

Required Tools:  

  • Round nose pliers
  • Flat nose pliers
  • Flush cutters
  • Bench block
  • Rawhide or nylon mallet
  • Steel ring mandrel
  • Disc cutter (able to cut 7/8" circles)
  • Heavy hammer (preferably 1-lb brass hammer)
  • Sanding sticks
  • Jeweler's saw and 3/o or 4/o saw blades
  • Bench pin
  • Center finder (optional)
  • Fine point Sharpie
  • Bees wax or Cut lube
  • Solder Set-up,
    • medium and easy solder.
    • Torch 
    • Fireproof surface 
    • Quench bowl
    • Pickle
    • Solder pick
    • Cross-lock tweezers (secure transfer of hot items from solder board to quench bowl)
    • Flux
    • Hydrogen peroxide
