23-22.03 Split Lentil Pendant

Pre-requisite: Familiarity with metal clay.

Class Description: In this technique-packed class students will make an unusual pendant with a modern design. Experiment with various angles, textures and stone setting possibilities: the pendant can be assembled many different ways. Students can choose from a variety of fireable stones in different sizes, shapes and colors.

Giving Back:By registering for this class a donation of $20 will be contributed to the instructor's charity of choice, the Salvation Army. Materials Kit: Fine silver metal clay, metal clay syringe with tip, fireable stone.

Required Tools:  

  • Basic Metal clay tool kit
    • roller, 10 playing cards, scalpel, tissue blade, fine paintbrush, fluffy paintbrush, sanding sponges and straight salon boards (nail file) of different grits, cup of water, cup of olive oil, piece of Saran wrap/cling film.
  • Circle template or round cookies cutter set
  • Jeweler’s saw and 2/o saw blades or exacto knife with saw blade
  • Small piece of glass/plexiglass or acrylic, texture of choice,
  • Two old lightbulbs and something to stand them in such as a shot glass, or other doming forms.
  • Drying set up, such as a mug warmer, food dehydrator or kitchen oven.
  • Tweezers
  • Brass brush 
  • Liver of sulfur patina
