Class Description: Ornamental clasps can be the focal point of art jewelry. In this workshop students will gain experience on a variation of a box clasp that includes a safety catch.
Project Completion: students will have enough time to finish during live class.
Materials Kit: sterling silver stock.

- Sharpie
- Chain nose pliers
- Round nose pliers
- Flat nose pliers
- Side cutters (flush)
- Flex shaft
- Flex shaft bits:
- Sanding discs and mandrel
- 1mm HSS drill bit
- Center punch
- Bench block
- Rawhide mallet or Nylon mallet
- Needle files
- Bezel shears
- Bezel shears (curved)
- Jewelers’ saw
- Saw blades (2/o)
- Cut lube or Bee’s wax
- Bench pin
- Third hand
- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
- Sandpaper
- Basic soldering set up: butane torch, solder block or board, tripod with mesh, fire tweezers, pickle pot, copper tweezers, solder (hard, med, easy), flux, quench bowl with clean water.
