Class Description: Create earrings that move with meaning. In this course, you'll craft coin pearl earrings wrapped in delicate silver vines and kinetic blossoms. Learn how to design movement, solder dimension, and tube set small faceted stones with purpose. Perfect for makers ready to bring their stories—and their jewelry—to life.
HYBRID Option: This option is for in-person participation. Tools will be provided to share during class time. Recordings will also be provided. **Please note, Hybrid options are inclusive of kit. Location: Northside Artist Loft, 229 Irving Ave N, Unit 102, Minneapolis MN 55405. Students are asked to arrive 30 minutes early. Once the class has started you will not be able to enter the building.
Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using a Smith Little Torch, however, any jewelers' torch except a MicroTorch will work.
Project Completion: Students will have enough time to finish the project during the class.
Materials Kit: Enough material for one pendant (silver stock, pearls,CZs).

Required Tools and Supplies:
- Scissors
- Sharpie
- Round nose pliers
- Bench block
- Rawhide mallet or Nylon mallet
- Goldsmith hammer or ballpein hammer
- Student files
- Steel dap set
- Needle files
- Jewelers’ saw
- Saw blades (2/o)
- Cut lube or bees wax
- Bench pin
- Third hand
- Patina such as LOS
- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
- Clear epoxy or resin
- Fine tweezers
- Flex shaft
- Flex shaft bits: 1mm HSS drillbit, 3mm setting bur, sanding discs and mandrel, fiber polish-fine.
- Solder pick
- Rotating solder station
- Soldering set up: solder pick, solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, flux, copper tongs, silver solder wire: hard, med and easy.
*Note: You must choose either a Zoom or Zoom/Kit combo to receive written instructions. Kits will begin to ship Oct. 1, 2025, unless otherwise arranged with instructor.
