Class Description: Students will be introduced to a variety of different skills including chainmaille, basic metalsmithing, and riveting to create a multi-metal dynamic bracelet. The option to texture your metal pieces will also be demonstrated. Open to all skill levels, you’ll be guided on how to design and create various panels and then connect them together using chainmaille byzantine units.
Project Completion: Students will not have enough time to finish the project during the class time. Students will receive all necessary instructions in class to complete the project on their own time.
Materials Kit: Enough material for one bracelet(aluminum sheet metal, copper sheet metal, brass sheet metal, aluminum wire, copper wire, bright aluminum or copper jump rings, base metal slide clasp, a variety of metal charms/beads/components to rivet).

- Sharpie
- Chain nose pliers
- Flat nose pliers
- Metal hole punch pliers - 1.2mm, 1.6mm or deluxe metal hole punch with 4 punches.
- Metal ruler 6”
- Metal shears
- Bench block
- Texture hammer (optional)
- Rawhide mallet or Nylon mallet
- Chasing hammer
- Riveting hammer
- Student file
- Buffing block
- Bracelet bender
- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
