Instructor: Storm Rise
Skill Level: Intermediate
Pre-requisite: Student should be familiar with 3 dimensional forms. Polymer clay work, sculpting, or other sculptural experience will all help here.
Class Description: In this class we will be exploring working with subtractive wax carving to create complex 3 dimensional carved forms for casting. Students will learn about function and comfort in design planning, wax to metal weight calculations and tips and tricks to finish the piece to a fine finish without heat. Although this is a ring class, students can choose to make a pendant instead if wanted (though they will still be working with the ring-form wax blank).
