Class Description: In this jewelry-making class project, students will create a kinetic pendant that combines movement and modern design. This class emphasizes both design and engineering elements, teaching students how to integrate kinetic movement into their jewelry for a dynamic and eye-catching centerpiece.
Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using a butane torch, however, any jewelers' torch except a MicroTorch will work.
Project Completion: Students will have enough time to finish the project during the class.
Materials Kit: Enough material for one pendant (sterling silver stock, drillbit, glass disc.) Please indicate color choice, if no color is selected, one will be chosen for you.

Required Tools and Supplies:
- Sharpie
- Heavy duty cutters or Jeweler's saw
- Bench pin (optional)
- Brass brush
- Bench block
- Rawhide mallet or Nylon mallet
- Chasing hammer (optional if you would like to add a texture)
- Riveting hammer
- Center punch
- Pin punch or the like between 3-5mm
- Student file
- Flex shaft (with buffing wheel and polishing compound)
- Cut lube or bees wax
- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
- Sand paper (indicate grit) 600/500/400
- Steel wool
- Honeycomb block with pins (optional but helpful)
- Rotating solder station (optional)
- Solder pick
- Any jeweler's torch except Microtorch.
- Soldering set up: butane, torch, solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, quench bowl, flux, copper tongs, silver solder paste, wire or chip: Hard, Med., Easy
