Class Description: I’m excited to explore how thin cord can be combined with 2.5 mm flat soutache to create a puff spiral braid. In this class, you’ll learn to:
· Integrate thin cord and soutache within the traditional eight-strand Kongoh gumi structure
· Arrange the strands in specific slots
· Add and drop beads as you braid
By the end of the session, you’ll understand how varying cord thickness produces beautifully distorted braid effects, and how incorporating beads during the braiding process adds sparkle and highlights to your necklace.
Project Completion: Students who work quickly will have enough time to finish the project during class time.
Materials Kit: Cords, wire, clasp, instructions.
