17-24.16 VEC Short - Fold Form Basics

Class Description: Learn a fast and simple way to tranform sheet metal into 3-dimensional forms! In this VEC Short we'll make a beautiful pair of leaf earrings while learning the basics of fold-forming.

Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using an Orca torch, however torch large enough for annealing will work. 

Project Completion: watch and learn.

Required Tools:  

• Scissors
• Sharpie
• Flatnose pliers
• 1.25mm Hand hole punch of any size or a 1.25mm drill bit on a flex shaft
• Metal shears
• Brass brush
• Bench block
• Heavy/large riveting hammer
• Student files
• Magnifying glasses (as needed)
• Any torch other than a Blazer type torch.
• Soldering set up: solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, quench bowl, flux, copper tongs.
