Class Description: Learn the art of crafting an elegant dragonfly pendant using a combination of lump and syringe types of silver metal clay. In this class, you'll shape the dragonfly's body with clay and I'll show you how to easily master the technique of creating lacy wings using a syringe. Set cubic zirconia gems add sparkle and personal flair. No previous sculpting or syringe experience is necessary, making this class accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels.
Project Completion: Students will have enough time to finish the project during the class, unless they are kiln firing.
Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using a butane torch, however, any jeweler's torch or a kiln may be used.
Materials Kit: Enough material for one pendant (Art Clay lump type, Art Clay syringe type with tips, fine silver wire, cubic zirconia gemstones. Instructor will reach out after registration for color selection).

Required Tools:
- Sharpie
- Wire cutters (preferrably flush)
- Round-nose pliers
- Flat nose pliers
- Chain-nose pliers
- Side cutters (flush)
- Brass brush
- Fine tweezers
- Needle files
- Curved burnisher
- Rotating Solder Station
- Magnesia block
- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
- Patina (indicate type) LOS gel
- #4 flat (bright) paintbrush
- Needle tool or awl or toothpick
- Torch firing set up: butane torch, fire tweezers, quench bowl.
- Electric programmable kiln (recommended)
- Rotary or magnetic tumbler with stainless steel shot
- Pencil
- Basic metal clay set up: roller, non stick work surface, 10 playing cards or depth measuring slats, scalpel or Xacto knife, fine paintbrush, fluffy paintbrush, fine paintbrush, sanding sponges and straight salon boards (nail file) of different grits, cup of water, release agent (cool slip, olive oil), piece of saran wrap/cling film.
- Drying set-up such as a mug warmer, food dehydrator or kitchen oven.
