Class Description: The Fantasy Flower is a testament to the beauty of nature filtered through your imagination and brought to life through the vivid hues and unique properties of anodized niobium. Craft your flowers and anodize with the bath method then add the fantasy with anodic painting.
No anodizer…no problem. An anodizer can be rented for a 3 week period from the instructor. ($75) As demonstrated in the VEC Anodizing Short, batteries can be also be used for this process. This option, however, provides a more limited color palette than when an anodizer is used.
Project Completion: students will have enough time to finish during live class.
Materials Kit: niobium sheet, dichroic gems, pair of ear wires, electric paint brush, flower templates, and 3M sanding pad
