Class Description: Explore the exquisite art of silversmithing combined with the ancient technique of Keum-boo in this specialized class. You'll design and craft a striking prong-set ring featuring a rose-cut moss agate, enhanced with delicate gold accents through the Keum-boo method. Perfect for students looking to expand their jewelry-making repertoire with new techniques and refined skills.
HYBRID Option: This option is for in-person participation. Tools will be provided to share during class time. Recordings will also be provided. **Please note, Hybrid options are inclusive of kit. Location: Northside Artist Loft, 229 Irving Ave N, Unit 102, Minneapolis MN 55405. Students are asked to arrive 30 minutes early. Once the class has started you will not be able to enter the building.
Project Completion: By the end of this class, you will have created a unique prong-set ring that beautifully showcases a rose-cut moss agate, adorned with gold accents. You'll gain proficiency in both silversmithing and the Keum-boo technique, opening new possibilities for your future jewelry designs.
Torch: Instructor will demo using an oxy/acy torch, however a butane torch or Gentec/Smith Little torch will also work.

- Flex shaft bits: 2&3mm round setting bur, knife edge polishing wheels, sanding discs, 1mm (#56) HSS drill bit, 2 & 3mm cylinder burs, setting hammer (optional),
- abrasive mini fiber wheels, med, fine,x-fine, and/or tumbler.
- Solder pick
- Gentec, Smith Little, butane, acetylene or propane torch.
- Soldering set up: solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, quench bowl, flux, copper tongs, silver solder paste: Hard, Medium, Easy.
- Texture hammers or stamps
