Class Description: Dive into the vibrant world of torch-fired enameling in this dynamic class, where you'll create a captivating dragonfly pendant. This course will guide you through preparing a copper blank, applying enamel using a torch, and embellishing your piece with silver and gold leaf. Additionally, you’ll explore sgraffito techniques to add intricate details and texture to your creation.

HYBRID Option: This option is for in-person participation. Tools will be provided to share during class time. Recordings will also be provided. **Please note, Hybrid options are inclusive of kit. Location: Northside Artist Loft, 229 Irving Ave N, Unit 102, Minneapolis MN 55405. Students are asked to arrive 30 minutes early. Once the class has started you will not be able to enter the building.
Project Completion: By the conclusion of this class, you will have crafted a beautiful torch-fired enameled dragonfly pendant, complete with silver and gold leaf accents and personalized sgraffito details. You'll gain confidence in using a torch for enameling and discover new ways to enhance your jewelry with decorative techniques.
Torch: Instructor will demo using an butane, however am oxy/acy torch or Gentec/Smith Little torch will also work.
Materials Kit: copper blank, enamels, gold leaf, silver leaf.

- Scissors small, embroidery size
- Fine tweezers
- Bench block
- Rotating soldering station
- Bench pin
- Steel dap set or wood dap set
- Rawhide mallet or nylon mallet
- Enameling trivet (stilts)
- Enamel sifter
- Glass container for quenching
- Several pages torn from a magazine
- Klyr-Fire
- Clean fine paint brushes
- Any jeweler's torch
- Enameling screen
- Scotch scratch pad
