Class Description: This bracelet consists of fine silver panels, textured as desired. The panels can be made whatever shape and size that you like to give the bracelet an individual note.  The  beautiful toggle clasp is decorated by an opal composite that is mounted in a fine silver bezel cup. Stringing and finishing will be demonstrated for you to do after class.

Project Completion: students will have time to complete the metal clay pieces. However, final assembly will take place after class.

Materials Kit: Art clay silver 20g, paste, polishing kit, opal composite cabochon, bezel cup. (Note: students must provide their own stringing material and beads, see list below.)

Required Tools:  

  • Brass brush
  • Circle template
  • Needle files
  • Magnifying glasses (as needed)
  • Glazed ceramic tile or non-textured working surface.
  • Basic metal clay set up: roller, non stick work surface, 10 playing cards or depth measuring slats, scalpel or Xacto knife, fine paintbrush, fluffy paintbrush, fine paintbrush, sanding sponges and straight salon boards (nail file) of different grits, cup of water, release agent (cool slip, olive oil), piece of saran wrap/cling film. 
  • Drying set-up such as a mug warmer, food dehydrator or kitchen oven
  • Texture plates of choice
  • Torch firing set up: butane torch, solder block (or the like), fire tweezers, quench bowl.
  • Liver of sulfur
  • Beads and/or pearls of choice. A mix of rocailles and pearls were used in the sample.
  • Beading wire, 3x the length of your bracelet size
  • Crimps x4
  • Crimping pliers
  • Texture mats
  • Cookie cutters or shape templates of choice
  • Round skewers or thin knitting needles (not aluminum)
  • Masking tape

*Note: Kit only and extra kit options do not include instructions or recording. You must choose either a Zoom or Zoom/Kit combo to receive written instructions. Kits will begin to ship April 3, 2024, unless otherwise arranged with instructor.
