Pre-requisite: Must have fabrication experience.
Class Description: Enhance your silversmithing in our intermediate to advanced "Shadow Box Pendant, Cabin in the Woods" class, designed for crafting intricate three-dimensional pendants. Immerse yourself in designing a mesmerizing piece inspired by a cabin's serene imagery. Learn and apply advanced techniques for manipulating textured silver sheets, cutting precise layers, and seamlessly integrating them. Master the intricate process of layer cutting for a seamless integration. Understand design principles for three-dimensional jewelry and apply them to create a visually striking composition. Hone soldering skills for structural integrity and a polished finish. Learn refining techniques like polishing, oxidizing, and more for your desired aesthetic.
Project Completion: Instructor will be demo'ing with an oxy/acetelyne torch, however an oxy/propane, acetelyne air, or propane air will work. A standard butane torch may be not be hot enough as this is a large project.
Project Completion: students will have enough class time to finish the project.
Materials Kit: Silver stock, pattern.

- Flat nose pliers
- Metal shears
- Brass brush
- Metal ruler 6”
- Bench block
- Rawhide mallet or Nylon mallet
- Needle files
- Jewelers’ saw
- Saw blades (2/o)
- Cut lube or bees wax
- Bench pin
- Third hand
- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
- Fine tweezers
- Patina LOS or Jax Max
- Flex shaft
- Flex shaft bits: sanding discs, polishing brushes, 2mm red polisher pin, 1mm (#56) HSS drill bit
- Solder pick
- Gentec, Smith Little, acetylene or propane torch.
- Soldering set up: solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, quench bowl, flux, copper tongs, silver solder paste: Hard, Medium, Easy.
- Texture hammers or stamps
