Pre-requisite: Must know how to make a simple wire wrap.
Class Description: Don’t let the simplicity of this project fool you. Join us for a workshop where you'll learn to create these beautiful, textured earrings with vibrant gemstone drops. In this class, you'll be introduced to pick soldering, a fundamental technique for precision and control in soldering. You'll form dimensional shapes and securely attach gemstones, resulting in a stunning pair of earrings. This is a perfect class for those new to soldering or looking to expand their basic jewelry-making skills. You will need to bring steady hands for this class.
Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using a butane torch, however, any jewelers' torch except a MicroTorch will work.
Project Completion: Students will have enough time to finish the project during the class.
Materials Kit: Enough material for one pair of earrings (sterling silver stock, amethyst tear drops).

- Sharpie
- Chain nose pliers
- Round nose pliers
- Flat nose pliers
- Side cutters, flush preferred
- Nylon pliers
- Half round pliers (helpful)
- Nylon Looping Pliers
- Brass brush (optional)
- Bench block
- Rawhide mallet or Nylon mallet
- Student files
- Needle files
- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
- Sand paper (indicate grit) 600/500/400
- Super grip gloves (optional)
- Steel wool
- Double sided tape
- Scissors
- Rotating solder station (optional)
- Solder pick
- Flex shaft with: brass bristle brush, polishing bits and polishing compound.
- Any jeweler's torch except Microtorch.
- Soldering set up: butane, torch, solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, quench bowl, flux, copper tongs, silver solder paste, wire or chip: Hard, Med., Easy
