Maggie Thompson

Maggie

Maggie Thompson  characterizes her designs as “embellished kumihimo”. Using a lot of 2 hole beads such as lentils, bricks, triangles, honeycombs and super duos for their versatility for embellishing the braid with at least one layer (and sometimes two!) of beadweaving. Czech glass and buttons are also a large part of her beading “repertoire”.

Maggie’s national career began in April 2015 with her first eBook “Kumihimo Made Easy” published by Interweave Press. Since then, there have been several eBooks and webinars, “Elegant Kumihimo”, “10 Kumihimo Patterns to Braid” and “Beaded Kumihimo Basics”. Maggie has also graced the cover of Beadwork magazine with her “Kumi 3 Ways” design.

Maggie has taught kumihimo classes locally as well as nationally at Beadfest Philadelphia, Beadfest Lancaster, at the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show and at the Bead & Button Show in Milwaukee. Her kits & kumi supplies can be purchased through www.maggietdesigns.com
