Class Description: Learn how to make a fun pair of reversible earrings! Students will learn an unconventional tube-setting technique for faceted gemstones that showcases a part of the gem we rarely get to see in traditional jewellery settings. Create a unique pair of sterling silver earrings while learning how to build a secure, dynamic catch designed to help keep your earrings safely in place. Perfect for students looking to expand their stone-setting and fabrication skills.
Project Completion: Students who work quickly will have enough time to finish the project during the class time.
Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using an acetalyne torch, however, any butane torch will work.
Materials Kit: Enough material for one ring (Sterling silver stock, faceted gemstones. Available gemstone colors: red, orange, light blue, dark blue, light green, dark green, purple, clear, black)
Tool Kit: Bezel helper tool for hammering gems in place.

- Patina LOS or Jax Max
- Polishing Compound
- Flex shaft
- Flex shaft bits: 4mm setting or ball bur
- Optional: hammer handpiece or bezel helper
- Brass brush
- Solder pick
- Jeweler's torch of any kind
- Soldering set up: solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, quench bowl, flux, copper tongs, silver solder: Medium chip and paste.

- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
- Sanding sticks
- Sand paper: 320 grit
