Class Description: Textures are a great way to add interest to any jewelry piece. Reticulation is a fantastic way to put your silver-melting skills to work. In this VEC Short, we will combine these two techniques to create an intense, dynamic look on silver sheet.
Project Completion: Students may play along, however, there will not be enough time to complete a project.
Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using an butane torch, however, any jeweler's torch will work.
Required Tools and Supplies:
- Self-tapping center punch
- Flex shaft
- Flex shaft bits: #52-#56 HSS drill bits
- Cut lube
- Solder pick
- Jeweler's torch of any kind
- Soldering set up: solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, quench bowl, flux, copper tongs.
