Class Description: Put a little swing into your earrings with these kinetic earrings. Learn how to make a pair of dynamic earrings that move when worn! These earrings perfectly balance geometric structure with fluid design. In this hands-on workshop, you will create movement in jewelry by making a simple hinge. Then, we will lock in a focal bead to add a pop of color.
Project Completion: Students who will have enough time to finish project during the class time.
Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using a butane torch AND Gentec, however, any jeweler's torch will work in combination with a Gentec/Smith Little.
Materials Kit: Enough material for one pair of earrings (Sterling silver stock, Carnelian beads).

Required Tools and Supplies:
- Sharpie
- Chain nose pliers
- Round nose pliers
- Flat nose pliers
- Nylon pliers
- Multi-looping pliers or stepped mandrel
- Heavy duty side cutters
- Oval template
- Bench block
- Rawhide mallet or Nylon mallet
- Student files
- Needle files
- Polishing Compound
- Tumbler with jeweler's shot (optional)
- Jeweler's saw with 2/o saw blades, Cut lube
- Bench pin
- Brass brush
- Metal ruler
- Scribe (optional)
- Solder pick
- Jeweler's torch of any kind
- Soldering set up: solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, quench bowl, flux, copper tongs, silver solder of any kind: easy.
- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
- Sand paper: 400, 500, 600 grit
