Class Description: Learn how to create a custom channel setting for small octagon or rectangular gemstones. Often considered challenging stones to set, students will learn tips and techniques for fabricating a clean, secure setting while creating a beautifully simple yet sophisticated ring. This class focuses on precision fabrication, stone setting, and finishing techniques perfect for students looking to refine their jewellery skills.
Project Completion: Students who work quickly will have enough time to finish the project during the class time.
Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using an acetalyne torch, however, any butane torch will work.
Materials Kit: Enough material for one ring (Sterling silver stock, faceted octagon or rectangle gemstone: pink tones, purple tones, blue tones, green tones, white/clear, yellow tones).
