Skill Level: Intermediate
Class Description: In this intermediate silversmithing class, you will learn to transform sterling silver into a stunning, nature-inspired statement piece. Students will master the art of creating organic, components and textures, fusing, and forming wire. Over the course of the class, you will practice soldering complex joints and setting a gem cut CZ. Leave the class with a beautifully customized ring.
Project Completion: Students who work quickly will have enough time to finish the project during the class time.
Torch: Instructor will be demonstrating using an butane torch, however, any jeweler's torch will work.
Materials Kit: Enough material for one ring (Sterling silver stock, Cubic Zirconia).

- Chain nose pliers

- Side cutters (flush)
- Heavy duty side cutters
- Prong pusher
- Bench block
- Rawhide mallet or Nylon mallet
- Student files
- Needle files
- Cut lube , Bur Life or bees wax
- Bench pin
- Polishing Compound
- Steel ring mandrel
- Ring sizer
- Flex shaft
- Flex shaft bits: muslin wheel
- Brass brush
- Solder pick
- Jeweler's torch of any kind
- Soldering set up: solder board, tripod with mesh, pickle, fire tweezers, quench bowl, flux, copper tongs, silver solder: hard, medium, easy.
- Third hand
- Magnifying glasses (as needed)
- Sanding sticks
- Sand paper: 400, 500, 600 grit
